That's how I recorded them down . pt 1

It would be nice that everyone finds his/her own style to record down the things he/she has gone through; beautiful or sad, its all worth to do it.

Time flies. We cannot stop it. But we can enjoy this magical ride, document it somewhere, somehow or another and so that we can take a peep sometime later. Maybe our children and our grandchildren can learn a little about us and our time.

I am fortunate to find my own expression of keeping a note about what's in my mind during this passage of time. In fact, I had 3 methods.

It all started at the age of 16, when I first picked up a guitar. It was the cheapest guitar on the guitar racks at Yamaha store. Cheapest because it wasn't branded Yamaha. Yet it took all my saving away in exchange for a instrument that writes and plays my dream. Never looked back from then.

After pickup a few simple chords within a month, I started writing my own songs. I guessed it was because of the encouragement from the peers. I was given with some lyrics by a school mate called HuiHui and I began composing melody out of them. Nothing fantastic; but it had enabled us to shout our youth days out loud and clear.

I like to walk; walking home from school, from train station, sometime even purposely alight a few bus stops earlier just to "walk" home.
When I walk, melodies will play inside my head...that's a beautiful experience.

  1. Hello Derrick!

I'm not a "blogman". Not yet. But I was curious about what you wrote down here! I know one of the other methods.

Interesting to read! I think you're a good writer! Another talent!

    See you on Flickr!

I don't have a talent for music, but I do enjoy it very much... I can understand how much joy music has brought you...
